Hub details

All entries must be linked to a HubID.

The person in charge of Young Scientist entries for a  school or organisation should register as a Hub Contact to obtain a HubID for that school/organisation. Parents can also register for a HubID, but only if the student's school is not otherwise participating (this ensures that schools do not exceed the number of entries per school).

Hub contacts can see and edit all entries submitted using their HubID up until the closing date, and will receive communication about the entry (as will the adult completing this form).

Supervising adult declaration

This project submission form must be completed by an adult (parent, carer, or educator) who can verify that the project is the work of the student and that parental permission has been received for the sharing of student information. If the details below are not correct, please log out and register with the correct details.
Consent to submit
By selecting this option, the adult completing the form declares that they have the consent of the student(s) and their parent/guardian(s) to enter the competition and share the student's details with STANSW. All information shared will be securely stored and used as outlined in the STANSW privacy policy.
Eligibility declaration
By selecting this option, the adult completing the form declares that they have read the project, and the rules of the Young Scientist Awards, and confirms that the project is eligible to enter. This includes attesting that the project is the student's own work, is de-identified, represents work started after 1st September last year, and that all assistance, and any use of AI, is fully acknowledged within the project.

Permission to publish
By selecting one of the options above, the adult completing the form declares that the student(s), parent/carer(s), and supervising adult give permission for STANSW to share the student's name, school, project title, and a summary of the project in public announcements in the case that the project receives an award, and where indicated, that permission is also granted to share the full project files as part of the repository of past projects on the Young Scientist Project Portal.

Main Report

  1. Please submit the PDF of your main project report in the field labelled "Main report file".

Logbook and Supplementary Files

  1. Please submit your logbook in the field labelled "Logbook and other files". PDF format is preferred for logbooks.
  2. Other supplementary files can be included here if desired, though judges are not required to view them. Spreadsheets or csv files containing raw data and/or analyses are recommended to supplement the log book.
  3. Up to three files can be submitted here, including small videos (eg demonstration of invention)
  4. If longer video files or software demonstrations are required, please upload to cloud storage and provide a PUBLIC ACCESS link within the project report (these must also be de-identified). If judges cannot access files, they cannot be considered with the submission.

  1. Ensure all files and filenames are de-identified (no student names, school names, teacher/mentor names)
